Glenn Alan Mulder
Hi! Nice to meet you. I'm Glenn, a software engineer, team coach, rubber duck and writer of short stories. On this page, you'll get to know me and what I do. It is hosted on AWS and built using Svelte. The blogposts (in the lower left corner) are written in Markdown. Feel free to look around!

Experience

  1. Trainer: Knowledge Elicitation & Requirements Engineering

Sogyo & Bank Mendes Gans, Amsterdam

Developed an intensive 10-day training program for knowledge elicitation and requirements engineering principles, including popular modelling techniques. We taught this material to mixed groups of customer journey experts, business analysts and product owners.

  4. Lead Software Engineer & Team Development Coach

    Blonk Sustainability Tools, Gouda

Contributed to the development of tooling for calculating ecological footprints of animal production systems and agriculture. Notably, I coached a starting team of developers and helped them become a self-reliant software development team by mentoring them on continuous delivery, component and service level design, clean code and agile fluency.

  5. Developer, Lead Developer, Product Owner of Sogyo's HR Software

    Sogyo, De Bilt

Since joining Sogyo, I have contributed to the development of Sogyo's HR software in a variety of capacities. My roles have included responsibility for development of new features, requirement discovery, enacting large refactors and mentoring junior developers. Continuous delivery practices have been a key focus. Lately, I have transitioned into a product owner role, focusing on the applications that support Sogyo's academy processes.

    Sogyo, De Bilt

As an academy coach, I taught newcomers software development concepts. As a trainer, I developed and hosted training days, workshops, and knowledge sessions on a topics like modern software engineering, requirements engineering, knowledge elicitation, and domain driven design. As software engineer, I worked on Sogyo's recruitment and HR systems, and as rubber duck —my favorite role— I provided a sounding board for colleagues and challenged them with incessant questions.

Education

  1. Research Master's in Computational Biology

Theoretical Biology & Bioinformatics research group, Utrecht University

A master consisting of two research projects concerning the mathematical modeling of the evolution of molecular bacteriophage decision mechanisms and agent-based modeling of the activation and stimulation of immune system cells.

  2. Honours Bachelor's in Biology & Molecular Life Sciences

    University of Groningen

A bachelor consisting of a major in molecular life sciences and a composite minor with subjects from physics and artificial intelligence, concluded with a thesis on simulating DNA-driven membrane fusion using molecular dynamics. Additionally, I participated in the Petrus Camper track of the University of Groningen Honours College.

Personality:

So, you're interested in who I am, rather than what I do? Here's a few personality models that I've found useful.

Hobbies:

Naturally, I'm not all about work. I'm a big fan of reading, writing, and like to channel excess creativity into world building and map-making for the table-top roleplaying games I host. Beyond that, an escape to the outdoors is always nice.
